once upon a time, in san peteyville, i used to be a barrista (barristo?). 'twas a wednesday night, sometime in early-to-mid spring. barrista nikki and i worked a six-hour shift together. we split the tips down the middle. the night in question, we split 36cents. that's 3 addtional cents an hour each! i do believe we helped ourselves to vindication in the form of expensive beers, gratis.
now i worked at an establishment that pays out to its employees quarterly profit-sharing cheques. generally, the sum is somewhere between $1.12 and $1.70 per hour worked within the quarter. ...so... a nice chunk of change that totally makes up for not getting a raise in WELL over a year.
to date, still no raise.
moreover, chumpchange for profit-sharing this quarter.
i'm sorry virginia, there isn't a santa claus. well, at least not this year; he can't afford new tires for his sleigh.

i'm irate, but it'll pass.
however... tonight, i'll nurse a bottle of whisky, make a scathing mixtape review of the situation, map out possible exit strategies, and dream of co-ops that act like co-ops/practice what they preach.
