trs catchy. so incredibly catchy, in fact, that i had to buy the entire cd in order to have the first song of the second side of recently-posted mixtape. but i haven't [until today] given the rest of the album a fair shake.
and now all i have to say, after listening to about 60% of it whilst running about town, it's quite damn good. it's like all those american metal hairbands of the 80s (though more poison-esque pop than guns 'n' roses-esque tripe) that i missed out on thinking heavy metal was far too "satanic" for my jesus/bette midler/the replacements -loving ways. props to an english band trying to bring back 80s american bighair metal... and doing it far more tunefully, might i add. and the lyrics are somewhat better. though, i'm pretty sure track 3 [ growing on me ] is about an std rather than a person... which is slightly creepy... yet it's british, so i find it done in good taste. [oxymoronic; "ode to an std" and "good taste"].
so in conclusion, the darkness is a pleasant surprise for an incredibly ridiculous, spontaneous purchase. perhaps, they are a fleeting phase. but right now, i'm rocking out in my car and wearing ripped jeans. MUST FIND DENIM JACKET. PREFERABLY ACID-WASHED.
