the BRUTAL, UGLY truth of my FABULOUS, BEAUTIFUL life.

the recipe is simple enough...
we have the 'moist' mixture (butter, sugars) the wet mixture (eggs, mashed bananas, vanilla) and the dry (salt, equal amounts of the baking dusts--soda and powder, salt). Eventually these three become one, the ecumenical trinity. then we set aside half the batter whilst adding an absurd amount of cocoa powder to the active half. This becomes the black bottom of the banana bar. Spread yellowish batter over top. bake 25 minutes (though, it was well done by 18... i just have a sixth sense about these things.)
yes indeed. simple enough. however... the bold-faced, capital-print VEGAN in the corner of the bar's identity/ingredient card through me for a loop and a second take. butter? eggs? VEGAN? um...
whoops. no one's bothered to change the recipe card i guess. ignoring moral code, i display the bars with its [unaltered] sign anyway. everyone needs a little butter and eggs (both free-range, so who's complaining?!?!? vegan say what!? vegan who!? that's what i thought...) in their life, even vegans. especially those vegans that think Wonder[fully-unnatural]bread can be part of their special diet.
