water, burgundy wine, vodka, bourbon, cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, cloves, sliced orange (peel and all), grated meier lemon peel, blanched almond slivers, raisins and sugar... crockpotting on low. 1.5 hours down. 1.5 hours to go.

smelling the concoction just now, i might've overdone it on the cardamom pod. [gasp!] m'eh.

one part strained-base will be eventually be mixed with one parts burgundy wine and port wine, 1/8 part vodka and 1/12 part dark beer [a nice belgian christmas ale really does a nice job]. then, it'll all be heated. and then poured over sugar into a mug holding a few blanched almonds and raisin.

it is only acceptable to drink this during december.

if i were in norrbotten right now, it'd be polar night and the sun would not rise again until sometime between magi day and my birthday. meaning, i'd be v. drunk. ...v. much the majority of the time.
