i fell into that scattered-eye-contact mode. (you know the one--the one screaming nervousness.) i rambled. i whittered. i apologised for the facial hair in its 2nd or 3rd week of untrimmed growth [[you'd never know by looking at it.]]
it's for halloween; i'm trying to grow a handlebar moustache, i said.
he gave me a cd of perfect swedish pop that i had never heard before.
his face is burnt into the back of my eyes. well-kept memory.
and as i sat, surrounded by mum, sisters, cousins, aunt&uncle, grandparents and 170+ people smelling of old country buffet and soiled diapers, attending a so-so musical subparly performed at some questionable playhouse located in a second-string suburb, i thought:
i was witness to something/someone astronomically better than this today.
should chemistry fail me, i will test my skill at alchemy... though, the midas touch has never been my fort�.
