1. bush stood no chance in minnesota, though he finished with only a 3pt defecit to kerry, which is slightly surprising, given that when djp and i went to sleep, kerry was up 8-10pts. ne'ertheless, bush stood no chance in minnesota.

2. wisconsin has just been declared "blue." this means that all my friends, save two, live in states [or districts of columbia] of blue. angela is in new mexico, which could go either way, but bush is leading. sara is in virginia [gradschool purposes]... and it was fairly close in virginia for a while.

3. the minnesota state house! 134 seats. it was 53 DFLers to 81 GOPers. it is now.... [drumroll, please....] 66 DFLers to 67 GOPers [results from one race are still outstanding at time of this publication, R-candidate is ahead by only a couple hundred votes, and i guess there are a thousand or so provisional ballots/absentee ballots/what-have-you ballots to be counted.] and Tim Paw-LENTY [o'problems], the R-governor is up for re-election in 2 years and it is my goal to see him burn [metaphorically]. I have been very worried that civic, li'l, libby MN has been becoming far too redneck--asshole US/State congresspeople that have moved here from texas, alabama, mississippi and the like... don't worry Rep. Linder, I'm not [really] trying to single you out. [by the way, Linder [an "independent,"] lost--big time, bucko!--to a [[republican]] woman. however, I think she is evil and somewhat grotesque-looking and not much of an improvement over Linder.]

4. Ruth Johnson! the reason i drove to St. Peter-Nicollet County to vote! beat howard swenson! he looks like a fat dick cheney. she graduated from my alma mater with a religion degree and just weeks ago judged a dragshow contest put on by Queers&Allies...
